I started our weekend, Friday morning to be exact, with an intense craving for donuts.
Why? Who knows. Maybe it is just because it has been years since I have eaten one.
Maybe it is because everytime I turn around I see or hear someone talking about them. Eiter way, I think I fixed it.
Sy helped me make some vegan whole wheat biscuits cut into donut shapes.
When drizzled with honey and sprinkled with powdered sugar they were wonderful.
Brandon called them tiny donut lies but whatever. I was happy and so was Sy.
We went to the beach Saturday morning.
Sy and I love walking along the beach and seeing what the waves have washed in.
B made a nice hole/castle to relax in while Sy and I played.
View from the inside.
Hahahaha, the tide started to come in and flood them.
In the process of digging this massive hole Brandon came across this little fellow.
This is the biggest crab we've seen on the beach. We come across them alot but they're always much smaller. I have an awesome video of him. I need to figure out how to get it on here.
After sampling some awesome tropical fruit from the roadside stand (sapodilla, anyone? freaking awesome.) we came home and worked in the garden. It was such a pleasant day.
That evening a friend came over and was telling us about a dog she rescued.
The poor dear had been abandoned in a house for 3 days with no food or water. She has obviously been abused and has some social issues but we really are falling in love with her.
Please meet Lola.
The same friend has told me about this amazing place called The Balanced Dog Pack that I'll be contacting tomorrow. I think they're our best bet on rehabilitating her and making her fit in perfectly with the family.
Brandon is in love.
(I guess I am, too.)

This afternoon while we were having lunch on the patio I spied this little guy.
It was so amazing to see a real praying mantis!
Of course Brandon had to mess with him and he flew away but it was fun to look at while he was around.
I hope he comes back to eat all the little bugs!
xoxo
