Since Sy was in daycare for the day, B and I decided snorkeling around Turtle Bay would be a great way to spend the afternoon. This
little adventure required me to overcome my fear of fish and the open ocean.
Fortunately, there were very few fish to see (I did spot a puffer, though!) and it was in a cove so I didn't have to fear jaws sneaking up on me.
The location lived up to its name and we got to watch some lovely sea turtles play in the surf. Seriously, one of my favorite animals and I love
I can drive a few minutes from my home and watch them in the wild.
Alone time is the absolute best. No chasing the booga all over the beach and keeping him from stealing other kids toys or running headlong into the ocean.
I love the ocean but, decided that it definately terrifies me at the same time and I think this is the real reason I don't want to let B buy a surfboard. I just got him back from Iraq, I don't want the ocean stealing him away.
Salt water and short hair do not make being cute at the beach easy. Luckily, he loves me anyways.
On the way home we decided to stop at a farmstand and get some fried bananas and fresh dragonfruit. The stop was sooo worth it. I love roadside food and the dragonfruit was perfect.
We both got alittle crispy and had alot of sand in undesirable locations but really had a wonderful afternoon reconnecting.
